Thanks for reading. Make sure you have set the jumpers to the CD drive correctly. (Set it as master). Fist I can't set to IDE mode, but after I update my BIOS, I can. Is the SATA hard drive being detected there ?If the bios is NOT detecting it there....- Check your SATA data cables.
Boot using Ubuntu live CD. I had given up on all the data which I had collected over the last 4 years when my vista gave up and was unable to install Xp. As a test, I just changed my second drive for a VM from SATA port1 (the second port) to port 8.
