If you have one of those early double-ranked 4GB modules, they might not work together with your planned 8GB modules even in single-channel mode. You may get blue screens and crashing issues from incompatibility between the two, but if you are lucky it will work. I'm not sure I understand. If you have submitted the RMA on line and have not got a reply! I just wanna check it here because it doesn't look logical. Realistically, it depends on the characteristics of the two pairs of RAM.
Manual allowed me to change each value to 7, but as I arrowed-down to access the next value, the first value would revert to 9. solved General question about dual channel memory. Will it match up with the existing stick and operate in dual channel mode? You have a greater chance of it working then not working. The version is 3.2.8.
