Do I Have Reason To Be Dissapionted With My 6800GT?

I haven't used the "auto-detect" yet but I heard of several people getting wildly different numbers each time they do it. TheInq had a vague quickie on this: http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=16874 John_Reynolds 2004-06-29 11:31:54 UTC #4 This is probably the most interesting announcement this year for graphics. Apple may provide or recommend responses as a possible solution based on the information provided; every potential issue may involve several factors not detailed in the conversations captured in an electronic I try it and even played farcry for awhile.

You say they are ignoring the problem, but it looks like they aren't if they are publicing it like this... There's a reason that the eVGA, BFG, XFX, etc. The ability to feel is what sets us apart from non-living beings. im play SC right now, 12x10 8xAF with SM3 and HDR, Parallax Mapping, soft Shadows, the works.....lovely and smooth.

No special cooling solutions other than the side panel has an 80mm antec blowing out and I have two rears blowing out and two intakes. synic 2004-07-08 09:10:15 UTC #19 I'll just note that adding another card will not "double" your performance for sure. The framerates for >NASCAR 2003 Season (by Papyrus) are better, but not much better, than my >Ti4400. I wouldn't be too disappointed at 400/1000 or even 390/1000 considering the Ultra is only 400/1100. Whites are vivid and wonderful - more so than my older display. He also mentioned that if he couldn't find one we could discuss returns and whatnot.I also told him about the yellowish tint along the left side and bottom of the screen,

Last night I downclocked my CPU to AXP 3200+ speeds (2200mhz) and got about 5300-5400 in 3Dmark05. However, when you add the emotional component of an owner with a bad display, perception becomes blemished realty. I was pretty disappointed when I immediately noticed the far left and right edges had a dingy yellow tint to them when viewing white windows (such as Finder windows). and certainly if u experience more artifacts with increased AA and AF something isnt right, get on the dog n bone for an RMA #3 otispunkmeyer, Apr 4, 2005 sinixy

Can't remember which one(think it was Intel) had 1 ghz CPU's out but they were only availible from vendors like Dell for months after their "Official launch". There is no reason you (or anyone) should have to put up with this any longer - or at all! DO you think upgrading to a >3.2 GHz on the same board would eliminate this bottleneck? The 6800GT 256 comes out above the X800XL 2/3 times.

Perhaps I'm just having luck. results! ARCHIVED-Skeptical, Jan 13, 2005 #7 ARCHIVED-ClawHammr Guest Has there been any news from SOE or Nvidia about this?

I would much rather be feeling a negative emotion any day than feeling absolutely nothing.

Nvidia is in business to make money, not give away top of the line GPUs. Might be helping with the OC.

Other than even spiffier graphics, though, I'm having trouble envisioning any particular way in which inserting a rendered screen into some type of feedback loop would give you much aside from
