Until this year that hasn't been a problem. But, I'm not so sure it's the Hard Drive and hence the reason for proposing this in this forum. In System Failure, verify that the "Write an event to the system log" check box is marked.5. are there any devices in device manager with ayellow question mark or yellow triangle beside them? I have two units of these and both have same problem..
When powered up it gives a system error of 3 long beeps. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'll report back with the result. With this being networking and dealing with Microsoft Windows Server I would love to complete the MCSA.
According to the documentation, this apparently indicates a "Power Up Default". I now have the Diag504fCD.iso on a CD and can insert it into the Dimension 4400 at any time. No...no beep codes. I looked> the code up on Dell's website and found out it means the BIOS memory test> failed.
