no display though and the machines cuts off right away. I've seen cases when it was simply a sensor firmware problem, and updating fixed it. Look for cylindrical cans the appear to have bulged ends or worse. Have you tried removing the side case to allow more air flow?

The GeForce cards overheat real quick if their fans are clogged with dirt or aren't spinning freely. Browse other questions tagged boot hardware-failure or ask your own question. most of laptop use this type for BIOS but maybe yours are different. at most 3 seconds its on for.
