Thanks for the advice...NOT! When in doubt, back up your files and reinstall Windows. It was driving me NUTS. it could be RAM address interrupts but that isn't common on 64-bit win7.
Does the European number for emergencies (112) really work in Germany? I'm guessing that running that for a while will indicate that there's a problem with the particular chip you're attempting to add. But then, it will calm down and be okay again. These are insulating materials and if there are standoffs on the bottom of the computer they will also be blocked from allowing air flow. The advantage of Linux is that if anything goes wrong there's always a way to fix it without the need for a reinstall.
