My initial thought was CPU... Write down the exact name of the update. There is no blue screen, and BlueScreenView turns up no results after the restart. Fixed by reinstall my Windows XP last week and all was running fine. Check This Out

I finally had to just turn it off. This obstruction was the problem and the solution was taking out the RAM stick, blowing on it and the slot as if it were a NES cartridge.
